This study investigates the factors contributing to the low learning interest of Class X students in Christian Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Kristen/PAK) at SMK Kristen 2 Surakarta. The researcher observed low learning interest through students' limited attention during lessons, low enthusiasm, low participation, and difficulty understanding the material the teacher delivered. This condition motivated the researcher to examine the internal and external factors influencing students' learning interest among students from Christian, Catholic, and Islamic backgrounds. A descriptive qualitative method was employed. Ten informants participated: one PAK teacher, three Christian students, three Catholic students, and three Muslim students of Class X. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification, while data validity was established through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings reveal that students' low learning interest is shaped by internal factors — physical health condition, limited attention, and low psychological interest — as well as external factors, namely the teacher's instructional approach, classroom conditions, and peer influence. These findings are expected to provide practical input for teachers, schools, and students in creating a more conducive and engaging learning environment for Christian Religious Education, regardless of students' religious backgrounds.
